It's time for corned beef and cabbage and Irish merriment and music this Friday, March 16 (3/16) from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church of Lapeer. St. Patrick's Day Dinner at the church includes corned beef and cabbage, dessert and beverage.

Corned beef and cabbage is the Irish American version of the traditional Irish dish of bacon and cabbage. Irish American immigrants used corned beef as a substitute for bacon according to Wikipedia.
Ticket prices for the St. Patrick's Day Dinner are $8 if purchased in advance or $10 if purchased at the door. For more information, call the church at 810-664-2841. Grace Episcopal Church of Lapeer is located at 735 W. Nepessing Street in downtown Lapeer near the intersection of M-24 and Genesee Street.

When you stop by Friday you'll notice the church door is red. According to the church's website a Red Door was meant to symbolize sanctuary. A safe place. A harbor. Somewhere that is protected and secure. That is why at Grace their front door is painted red - a tradition that sends the message that you are welcome here.
