Steve Miller was born today October 5, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Steve learned to love music from his mother, a non-professional singer, and his dad, a pathologist, who enjoyed jazz and was an amateur recording engineer. Family friend Les Paul (the guitar great) heard a five year old Steve playing a guitar given to him by his uncle. Les encouraged the young boy to practice … and “perhaps you’ll be something one day”.
Les Paul was right on the money and young Steve did become something.
