Happy National Gummi Worm Day!

Today is National Gummi Worm Day. The worm was spawned by the success of the Gummibar, a small affordable fruit-flavored gum candy created by a German confectioner in 1922. He was inspired by the trained bears seen at street festivities and markets in Europe. Today the gum candy treat can be enjoyed in an array of flavors and shapes: frogs, snakes, bottles, toy soldiers, hamburgers, cherries, sharks, penguins, hippos, lobsters, octopi, apples, peaches, oranges, Smurfs, spiders and worms.
