Her name is Merry Clayton and she was one of the most highly sought after session singers of the 60's and early 70's.

Clayton sang with Ray Charles as a "Raylette", Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Dylan as well as countless other musicians, but she's most well known for her intense addition to "Gimme Shelter". "Rape! Murder! It's just a shot away!" are some of the most memorable lyrics ever. The story about her addition to the song is interesting too, as she went to record in the middle of the night in her pajamas.

Merry Clayton was unfortunately seriously injured in a car accident in 2014, which led her to have both legs amputated from the knee down, according to Rolling Stone.
