You’re invited to ‘Expressive Emotions,’ an art show sponsored by Lapeer County Community Mental Health, this Friday (9/11) from 5 PM – 7 PM at Gallery 194. The reception will include a presentation of a mural by local artists who use CMH services to local Vietnam War veterans. The artwork, a group project, is dedicated to all who served in Vietnam from Lapeer County. Lapeer County is participating in a nationwide commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the official start of The Vietnam War.

While you’re there check out ‘Creative Minds: Changing Minds,” a statewide traveling art show. The tour’s goals are to help remove the stigma associated with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities and substance use disorders by showcasing the talents of people who use CMH services and to highlight the recovery potential of the arts.
