Hollywood Vampires Stage All-Star Concert Debut

The Hollywood Vampires weren’t the only big stars onstage at their debut show last night, where the guests included Geezer Butler and Tom Morello. Watch as they tear through a cover of Jimi Hendrix‘s “Manic Depression” in the video above.

Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Johnny Depp lead the Hollywood Vampires, who made their stage debut at the 500-seat Roxy in Los Angeles. Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction and pop star Kesha joined them too. The concert edition of the supergroup is rounded out by two members with Guns N’ Roses connections, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.

Zak Starkey, son of Ringo Starr and a touring drummer with the Who, sat in for the band’s take on the Who’s “I’m a Boy.” Farrell handled lead vocals on Harry Nilsson‘s “Jump Into the Fire.” And Butler and Morello were onstage for “Manic Depression,” which is also featured on the Hollywood Vampire’s just-released self-titled album.

Kesha sang Led Zeppelin‘s “Whole Lotta Love,” with Cooper’s scorching harmonica taking the place of Jimmy Page‘s familiar guitar. She also joined Morello and Farrell for Cooper’s “School’s Out,” which segued into Pink Floyd‘s “Another Brick in the Wall.”

By now, Hollywood Vampires are used to being surrounded by big names. Their self-titled album, which was produced by longtime Cooper cohort Bob Ezrin, includes guest appearances by Paul McCartney, Brian Johnson, Dave Grohl, Robby Krieger, Joe Walsh and Slash, among others. All artist proceeds are being donated to MusiCares.
