This summer has been one for the record books in Michigan as far as the thermometer goes. Today will be another scorcher, with a high in the mid 90s with humidity to match. Does this extreme weather affect your state of mind? Find out after the jump.

The hotter and more humid the weather, the crankier we get. Physical reactions to extreme summer conditions like trouble sleeping and dehydration can really impact our mental health. Nancy Molitor, an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry and behavioral science at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine offers some tips to help us keep our cool this summer. Drink lots of water and pay attention to your body. Plan on doing any outside activities in the morning or in the evening, when it isn't quite so hot. Recognize that a lot of the people that you interact with are also feeling the effects of the hot, muggy weather. A little bit of empathy will go a long way.  'The average person can withstand this, if they listen to their body." she said.

Does hot weather make you grumpy? How do you find relief in hot, muggy weather?
