Ice Cream Scoops Recalled On Safety Concerns
Tens of thousands of ice cream scoops are being recalled on fears they could come apart and injure users. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says 20-thousand of the scoopers were sold across the nation by The Pampered Chef. The agency says the cap and seal at the end of the scoop can come off with "substantial force" when the utensil is exposed to warm water. There have been reports of injuries to consumers and damage to kitchen items caused by the ice cream scoops. The 15-dollar scoopers were sold by consultants and online from July of 2010 through September of 2010. Consumers are being told to quit using the scoopers and to get in touch with Pampered Chef for instructions about refunds or replacements.
