Imlay City To Offer Year-Round Elementary In Fall

Imlay City will become the second district in the county to offer year-around elementary, joining Lapeer Community Schools which began the program at Turrill Elementary this year. That is, if at least 25 students per grade, sign up.On April 18th parents can begin signing their elementary students up for the year around classes. They have until May 1st to complete the applications. It is a pilot program that many expect to succeed. Last spring more than 40% of parents expressed an interest.

The program hopes to better meet academic requirements and to provide choice and flexibility for parents and families.
