A few years ago we were warned about the Asian Carp invading the great lakes and now according to the DNR a new invasive species is here, the Red Swamp Crayfish.
The DNR says the Red Swamp Crayfish resembles a mini lobster and is a eaten in Louisiana. The problem is they can damage the ecosystem. Aggressive foragers they wreak havoc on the habitat for amphibians, invertebrates, and small fish.
