It’s not uncommon for musicians to be rewarded for their work, but Iron Maiden‘s Nicko McBrain is taking some pride in being recognized for something not music related.

The musician’s restaurant, ‘Rock N Roll Ribs,’ just received the ‘Best Ribs 2012′ honor from the Broward-Palm Beach New Times. McBrain, who co-owns the restaurant with friend Mitch Tanne, said of the honor, “It’s not just Maiden fans that come in. We do get a lot of pilgrimages, people come in and look at all the stuff on the walls, but most people that come in always come out satisfied. And it’s not major expensive. A rack of ribs is $16, and you get a pound and a quarter to a pound and a half of ribs.”

In their posting describing McBrain’s rib joint, the paper stated, “Though the interior of the restaurant looks more like an Iron Maiden shrine in a teenaged boy’s bedroom than a rib joint, this place knows barbecue. The coma-inducing combination of crispy charred pork slathered in the restaurant’s sticky, sweet, and tangy barbecue sauce is a recipe for one totally bitchin’ rack.”

The restaurant is midway into its third year of operation. It’s located on State Road 7 in Coral Springs, Fla.
