Aerosmith are in the middle of writing a new album, but they’re putting something out to hold fans over until the new music is released. It’s called Tough Love: Best of the Ballads and the 12-track disc includes hits like “Cryin’,” “Crazy,” “Livin’ on the Edge,” “Janie’s Got a Gun” and “Dream On.” The set hits shelves on May 10^th.

The New York Post recently reported that Aerosmith couldn’t work on their new album because of singer Steven Tyler’s American Idol judging stint, but the rocker’s attorney says that is the furthest from the truth – adding that Steven’s contract was specifically negotiated to allow for working with the band. Meanwhile, bassist Tom Hamilton told the Boston Herald that he’s “bursting at the seams” to work on new music adding, “Once Steven is done with his TV gig, we get to work and damned if we don’t have a finished record by the end of September.” Read more at BostonHerald.com.
