In addition to my job here at the station (which doesn't pay well at all), I have three other jobs. I host wedding receptions and events through Black Tie Productions, I host 'Mid-Michigan's Best Karaoke & Dance' every Friday and Saturday night at The Point Bar & Grillin Grand Blanc, and I also host My Trivia Live. It's a free game that is played 7 nights a week at different restaurants and bars all over Southeastern Michigan.

They began branching into the Flint area in the past few years and Chris Monroe and I decided to audition, and boom! Now we host trivia! We can fill in for each other and help out other hosts when they're in a pinch. So Monday I got a call asking if I could cover a show. Always doing my best to help out, I gladly volunteered. They sent me the address, and I was dumbfounded. New Baltimore? Is that really a city in Michigan?

After looking up directions to the east coast city, my eyes bugged out a little when I saw 84 miles/1 hour 37 minutes. Really? I scrambled to get my equipment and supplies and I hit the road. I arrived to find a really cool town, one that I wish I had more time to explore.

While I was hosting at a place called Fin's Eatery & Spirits, just two blocks from Lake St. Claire, I got to hang out with Jennifer Aniston and Billy Joel! Not really, but they sure looked like 'em! What really cracked me up was when everyone got an answer right and I played my 'Ding, Ding, Ding' sound, they almost jumped because I startled them. I had to warn them, "Sorry, I come with sound effects." They all laughed and we all ended up having a great night.

I have tons of fun hosting 7pm trivia at my usual venues; The Point Bar & Grill on Tuesdays, and The Fireplace on beautiful Lake Fenton on Thursdays, so come join us! But I gotta tell ya, filling in on Monday I fell in love with just one of Michigan's amazing small towns. What are some other charming cities or towns in Michigan that are worth exploring?
