Jimmy Buffett And Family Donate Boat

This past Monday, Jimmy Buffett, along with his sisters Lucy “Lulu” Buffett and Laurie Buffett-McGuane, christened the 33-foot vessel they’ve donated to the University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Coast Research Laboratory. Named Miss Peetsy B, after their late mother, the 1973 Navy transport has been converted to run on waste vegetable oil — waste oil from Jimmy’s Margaritaville restaurant in Biloxi and Lucy’s restaurant, Lulu’s, in Gulf Shores.

Last year, Jimmy donated a special boat to the Alabama Unified Command in its effort to recover oil-soaked wildlife along the Gulf Coast. It was designed specifically to navigate the shallow waters and marshes of the Gulf Coast.
