Are you ready for shamrocks? Shenanigans? Grab your kilt and join US 103.1 at the Michigan Renaissance Festival on Saturday, September 15, for a live broadcast with Carl Coffey from 10 AM to 12 PM. Catch the Flint Scottish Pipe Band, watch the sheaf toss, hammer throw, stone put and caber toss and show off those legs or cheer for your favorite contestant in the Men In Kilts Competition. Enter your baby in Race For The Rattle. Interpreters will be on site at stage shows at marked locations as part of Deaf Awareness Weekend.
The Flint Scottish Pipe Band will be playing through out the day. The group has the distinction of being the oldest continuously running Pipe Band in Michigan. It was founded in 1916 by Scottish Immigrants intent on preserving their Scottish Heritage through the music and dress of their homeland.
