Dustin Johnson three-putted on the 18th hole, allowing Jordan Spieth to win the 2015 U.S. Open Golf Championship at the challenging Chambers Bay course in University Place, Washington on Sunday. In addition to winning the Masters in April, Spieth has now captured the first two majors of the 2015 season.

After a double-bogey on No. 17, the 21-year-old Spieth fell back into a tie for the lead. He birdied the final hole, but Johnson lipped out a putt on 18 that would have sent the championship to a playoff.

After birdieing six of his final seven holes, Louis Oosthuizen tied Johnson for second. Adam Scott, Cameron Smith and Branden Grace finished in a three-way tie for fourth.

The other major storyline of the 2015 U.S. Open was concern over the Chambers Bay course. Several golf pros and caddies mentioned the hard greens and the positioning of the tees and the pins. None of that kept Spieth from capturing his second major of 2015.

The youngest golfer since Gene Sarazen in 1922 to win two majors, Spieth will continue his pursuit of golf’s Grand Slam July 16-19 at the 144th Open Championship at St Andrews in Fife, Scotland.
