The Asbury Park setting couldn't have been more perfect as 'Sons of Anarchy' star Katey Sagal, best known for her breakout role on 'Married ... With Children,' broke into an impromptu rendition of Bruce Springsteen's 'I'm On Fire' during a Hurricane Sandy relief event.

Sagal, who has a new album featuring songs by Jackson Browne and Tom Petty in stores today, performed the song at the request of her husband, 'Sons of Anarchy' creator Kurt Sutter. Sagal plays Gamma Teller-Morrow on the show.

The Sunday night benefit, which directed proceeds to the Hurriane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund and Staten Strong, raised some $40,000. Fox, which aired both 'Married ... With Children' and 'Sons of Anarchy' on its family of networks, contributed another $20,000, according to Sutter.

Depite her TV fame, Sagal is actually no stranger to rock. She's worked a background vocalist for a number of notable figures -- including a brief stint with Bob Dylan, on Gene Simmons' 1978 solo album, and on 'Take No Prisoners' from Molly Hatchet, among others. Sagal released her first solo recording project in 1994.
