Flint River Watershed Coalition invites you have some fun protecting, preserving and improving the Flint River Watershed and to start the paddling season by joining them as they kayak down Farmers Creek in Lapeer on Monday, April 23 at 5:30 PM. The one hour trip will start at the kayak launch at the Ponds and Prairies Farmers Creek access behind Chatfield School and continue downstream ending at Cramton Park. The cost is $10 per person with your own kayak or $15 if renting a kayak. Pre-registration for the paddle is required by Thursday, April 19. FRWC will sponsor fifteen canoe/kayak trips on the Flint River from April through October this year including three in Lapeer. According to the FRWC each trip is a uniquely beautiful journey down a different part of the Flint River to explore and rediscover the beauty and wonder of a healthy and thriving Flint River on a guided tour.
