Carlos Santana will be getting a special honor in Los Angeles.

The L.A. Board of Education has voted to name Valley Region Elementary School #12 in honor of multiple Grammy Award-winning guitarist.  The school, located in North Hills, will officially be called the Carlos Santana Arts Academy.  Santana wasn't on hand for the vote, but says in a statement that he's "deeply honored" to have the school named after him.  He adds, quote, "Each child's soul is the seed that contains light and love.  By investing patience, compassion, kindness and gentle wisdom, each child will bear the fruit of divinity."  Board member Nury Martinez says she's passionate about the arts because it was arts education that kept her in school and got her to college.
