Lapeer County Commissioners To Review ORV Ordinance

Currently, it is not legal to ride an ORV on the county's roads. That may soon change.The county commissioners are sending a draft of the ORV ordinance to the prosecutors office for review on possible changes that might just open the roads to ORV's. Of course the draft allows the road commission can close some of them to ORV travel.

The stumbling block to the changes appears to be the wording of the ordinance to make sure that the county is not liable in the event of a lawsuit. The Lapeer County Road Commission can indicate with a map, which roads they intend to close to ORV travel.
