Lapeer County Open Burn Ban Authorized

Due to extremely dry conditions, a countywide open burn ban went into effect today (6/30) at 9 AM. No open burning is permitted anywhere in Lapeer County. Private campgrounds as well as county and state facilities such as the Hadley-Metamora State Recreation Area are included in the ban. “We need a couple days of rain before this will be lifted and we do not see that happening any time soon” said Lapeer County Fire Chief’s Association Chairman Don Bissett.
