There are 12 Michigan cities that have pro-marijuana initiatives that include decriminalization on the November 4th ballot. If passed, it would allow persons 21 years of age and older to possess less than one ounce of cannabis on private property. However, there is still might be a "catch" for the user.

The fact that marijuana will still remain illegal under state and federal law means there might be some confusion on enforcement by the legal authorities. The proposal on the ballot reads that if you are at least 21, you are within the city limits of Lapeer, and you have less than one ounce of weed on you, then it is decriminalized for that purpose.
