For the past several months, going to a water distribution site has become a part of everyday life for many people in Genesee County. Since the state finally acknowledged the problem, the big question on the minds of every Flint resident has been 'When will the lead pipes be replaced?' With a great sigh of relief, we are happy to report that lead service lines will start coming out today!

WNEM reports that the pipe replacement will begin in Flint neighborhoods that have been deemed most in need, and homes with pregnant women, young kids and anyone with an autoimmune deficiencies.

Mayor Weaver said that as the pipe replacement gets under way, a state-run project to test the water infrastructure is also currently underway.
