We've been dealing with the M-24 construction and it's detours and delays. Now, it appears that Phase II of the project is going to wait until next year. The project was initially delayed this spring because of the deep frost that kept the ground frozen nearly a month longer than expected, so it doesn't appear that there will be time to get the second phase in this summer.

The change will affect the section of M-24 between McCormick/DeMille to Nepessing Street , which had planned to include the upgrading of the Farmer's Creek bridge and a lighted pedestrian path. Those projects will be moved to next year.

The delay will help business owners on the northern end of the project. Even though construction hasn't reached that far yet, they are still feeling the effects of the customers who are avoiding the construction area entirely.

So, it appears another summer of construction is in our future!
