MELLENCAMP’S VIEW OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH

John Mellencamp has always been a staunch supporter of the rights of the people, but he thinks some folks don’t have a firm grasp on some of those rights. The singer told us what he thinks freedom of speech has become today.

“It’s turned in ‘I can be an a**hole whenever I like, say whatever I like, be disrespectful to people, not be courteous.’ It’s not good for our society. Not being courteous is not really freedom of speech.”

John will no doubt be courteous to his audience when he kicks off the latest leg of his No Better Than This tour. It begins on February 3rd in Massachusetts and you can get all the dates at Mellencamp.com.
