Metamora Man Faces Charges For Serving Booze To Minors

After police received reports of underage drinking at a party in November, the Metamora Township Police Department was sent to a home on Winding Pine Drive in the Brechtwood subdivision. They issues more than 25 citations for minors in possession of alcohol, and in February they issued a warrant for James C. Amato, 51, for contributing to the delinquency of minors, and five counts of providing minors with alcohol.

Amato is set to meet with local prosecutors August 19th for a settlement conference, at which time he will enter a plea or a trial date will be set. If convicted of contributing to the delinquency of minors, Amato could get a maximum of 90 days in the Lapeer County Jail. The judge however, could impose other fines and court costs that might drive the fines upward.
