Goes to show, you never know what treasures you will find in your own yard.

How cool is this? A farmer near Chelsea was digging in a soy field and found the bones of a woolly mammoth.

After uncovering a rib bone that was sticking out of the ground, the farmer knew he had something way bigger that he thought in the mud of the field. University of Michigan Professor Dan Fisher and his students came to the site and uncovered a lot more.

Fisher said that the woolly mammoth was about 40 years old, bad loved between 10,000 and 15,000 years ago. He also adds that the mammoth was most likely hunted by a group of humans, butchered it, and stashed the bones in the now dried up pond.
