There is no shortage of potholes on Michigan roads. Paved road or dirt, side street or freeway, it's like their invading our state and multiplying faster than rabbits. I took the above photo and placed a quarter next to the crater. I was going to circle the coin, but I thought it would be more fun to play 'Where's Waldo'. Did you find it yet?

Of course there is a special election in less than a week to vote on raising the state sales tax to 7%, bringing in over a billion dollars annually for road repairs. After all, more than half of roads in Genesee County alone have been deemed 'bad'. But what can we do in the mean time?

Last year, I did a story on mail boxes that were taken out by snow plows. I even made a cheesy little video too. Well, I looked again to the road commission and here's what I learned.

There is a toll-free number that was set up by the Michigan Transportation Team that allows drivers to encourage lawmakers to fix Michigan's crumbling infrastructure. Call 1-888-719-3087 and enter your zip code. You'll be connected with your legislator at absolutely no cost.

"This toll-free number is a resource for anyone who has blown a tire, cracked a rim, or spilled coffee in their lap after passing over a famous Michigan pothole," said Mike Nystrom, vice president of government and public relations for the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association (MITA) and co-chair of MTT. "Legislators have told us that they want to hear from their constituents on the issue of Michigan's failing transportation system, we're happy to oblige."
