Spring time in Michigan means warmer weather, and hot drivers as we are all forced to contend with the new road construction projects.

MDOT put out their 2017 road construction map, and it looks like no road will be spared the orange barrel treatment this year.

There are projects all over the state, but a few will definitely cause some delays in the Genesee County area.

  • APRIL-OCTOBER Repair and resealing 13 miles of I-75 between I-475 and Birch Run.
  • AUGUST-OCTOBER Repair on I-69 between Ballenger Highway and Fenton Road.
  • NOW-DECEMBER Repair 10 miles of US-23 between M-14 and Silver Lake Road.
  • APRIL-NOVEMBER Reconstruct 1 mile of I-75 and I-675 North junction in Saginaw County.

There's no doubt that other projects will eventually pop up and slow things down.  Check out the lower peninsula map below from MDOT.  You can also click here to see the scheduled construction projects for the entire state.
