Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx Seeks Unknowns for ‘Dirt’ Film Cast

A final album and one last big tour are standard moves for a band mapping out an acrimony-free farewell.

Those appear to be part of Motley Crue‘s agenda over the next few years — but something much more definitive-sounding is a feature film based on the group’s best-selling autobiography, ‘The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band.’ And while Nikki Sixx claims he’s not at liberty to discuss the project at the present time, the Crue bassist has actually been very chatty lately about the forthcoming movie.

“Everything is moving forward really quickly,” Sixx says. “The best thing I feel would be to find a young, hungry bunch of actors [that wants] to go all the way out, and they will own it. People always say how great it would be to have ‘so and so’ in the movie, but I think the actors should be unknown names instead of seeing an actor who you recognize from playing several parts, and then you could see them as one of us.”

Sixx admits that it will be challenge for the movie to cram in everything that’s covered in the book, which was originally released in 2001. (A tenth-anniversary edition is hitting stores shortly.)

“We’ve met with the director and the production company, and we’re very excited,” Sixx adds, “but it’s nothing I can really talk about right now, but when we get the green light to talk about it, we’ll talk about it all day long.”
