The new Avengers 2 poster has arrived and, as a series of Ultron drones descend upon them, our heroes — Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Vision — are starting to look a little overwhelmed.

What's interesting about this new Avengers 2 poster is how prominent Captain America is compared to Iron Man. Since his very first movie, Iron Man and Robert Downey, Jr. have been at the forefront of the Marvel universe. But with the Iron Man films done, we're staring to see a slow transition to a new leader of The Avengers. Remember: Iron Man is co-starring in the next Captain America movie, not the other way around.

We know that in Avengers 2, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch start out on Ultron's side, but in this photo we see that they've already joined our superheroes. As for that other new member of The Avengers, Vision, we still don't get a very good look at him. He's flying up in the sky, far above our heroes, but the sun glare is obscuring any real look at him. Speaking of people we don't get a very good look at, it's surprising to see Ultron himself not make a major appearance on this poster. He's been a big part of this marketing campaign so far, but he's notably absent here.

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. 'Avengers 2' will also see the addition of Vision, the humanoid superhero created by Ultron from Tony Stark's JARVIS operating system.

Avengers 2 opens in theaters on May 1.
