You'll certainly recall in June, E Street Band guitarist Nils Lofgren lost his friend and E Street bandmate Clarence Clemons. Nils will soon release his latest album, Old School, and he’s using the music to express his sorrow. He says he is “heartbroken” that Clarence is gone and, while his album was written by the time the Big Man passed away, at live shows, Nils is altering lyrics for his friend. He has one song called “Miss You Ray” about Ray Charles’ passing, a metaphor for saying goodbye to family and friends, but he’s been singing it as “I miss you, C.” Old School features guest appearances from Paul Rodgers, former Foreigner singer Lou Gramm and Sam Moore. I've always loved Lofgren's solo work so I may just have to get it!  Available December 6th.  More on Nils website.
