A bullet traveled through a window and hit a Lapeer County man in the shoulder late Tuesday and police are trying to determine who fired it.

The 49-year-old was taken to an area hospital where he remained in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. He was alone in a bedroom at his house in a subdivision near Wilder and Peppermill Roads in Lapeer Township at around 11:40 p.m. when the bullet hit him. Other people inside the house were not injured.
The bullet was shot from outside the residence according to the Lapeer County Sheriff's Office. The area was searched and police talked with neighbors but no one saw a person or vehicle in the area at the time of the shooting. Several interviews have been conducted but no criminal charges were announced on Wednesday.
The shooting appears to be an isolated incident according to officials.
