October 31,1956 was a heartbreaking day for Paul McCartney. His mother Mary who was a nurse and midwife died from breast cancer. She had warning signs with chest pains that she ignored. She finally went to the doctor and would be operated on to stop the spread of breast cancer but it was to late to save her. Paul who was 14 years old took his grief and buried his energy into music.
Paul has spoke about his mother coming to him in dreams and on one of those visits he received inspiration from her for the song Let It Be.
