I am constantly is pursuit of “NEW” information about my favorite rock bands.  In an article in "Uncut" magazine, Paul Rodgers, lead vocalist of Free, Bad Company and recently Queen tells a story about how The Doors wanted him to replace Jim Morrison after the singer's 1971 death.  Rodgers says he didn't know about The Doors' interest until recently.  Doors guitarist Robby Krieger apparently told Paul that in the early '70s the California band traveled to England looking for him, but couldn’t find him.  Ultimately, Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek took on the singing for The Doors with the band ultimately breaking up in 1973.  It’s probably better that it never happened … what do you think?
