Wayne Gretzky to Pair With Daughter Paulina’s Boyfriend Dustin Johnson at Pro-Am
Paulina Gretzky, a fashion model, Instagram star, and daughter of "The Great One," has been romantically linked to Dustin Johnson since he won the season-opening PGA Hyundai Tournament of Champions last month. Now, it seems, Johnson has ingratiated himself to father Wayne Gretzky by inviting him to be his partner for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am event. It's not usually advisable to invite your girlfriend's father to an event where clubs are involved so we're not sure what Johnson, two-time champion of the event, was thinking.
Gretzky accepted Johnson's invitation. Good decision, Wayne, considering Dustin won at Pebble Beach in '09 and '10. However, at the time he didn't have the distraction of playing with his potential father-in-law.
Paulina has caused quite the buzz in the internet world because she is the hot, young daughter of a mega sports star and she dresses the part, so much so that when she walks the rope lines at Pebble Beach, the marshals will run ahead of her warning the professionals of an imminent "putter stutter" approaching.
Other notable pairings at Pebble Beach this week include last year's champions, Bill Murray and D.A. Points; Andy Garcia and Webb Simpson; Ray Romano and Erik Compton; Charles Schwab and Rod Pampling; Condoleeza Rice and Jason Bohn; and Jim Harbaugh and Jason Day.
The event runs Thursday through Sunday at Pebble Beach, California, and will be aired Thursday and Friday by the Golf Channel followed by CBS coverage for the final two rounds Saturday and Sunday.
