Another piece of rock history has drawn big money at auction.  The Les Paul guitar Pete Townshend played while on the American leg of The Who's "Quadrophenia" tour has sold. The instrument pulled in 50-thousand dollars at a sale organized by Christie's auction house.

Pete says he lent the guitar to his brother-in-law Jon Astley in the mid-1970s.  When Jon tried to return it to Pete, he said no. Pete says the guitar was one of his earliest Les Pauls, adding that he ax is -- for the most part -- "unmodified."
