Mike Kelley—he was injured at the Imlay City Fair in the demolition derby on August 1st—he was badly burned when his radiator exploded towards the interior of the car instead of out. He is currently in Hurley Medical Burn Center in Flint-they believe he will be there for a few months—his arms, chest and face have been burned and while his body is trying to fight off infection his kidneys started to shut down so he is now on dialysis and a ventilator and has already been through one of several skin graft surgeries.

Mike is a long term employee (20 years) at Toyo Seat in Imlay City and his insurance will only cover 80% of his hospital stay—his family and friends are going to do a benefit to help with the 20%. The benefit will be Sunday August 30th from 1-6pm at Castle Creek Golf Course in Lum.

There will be a live band who have donated their time for the day (Lum City Jams) and raffles and a pig roast! Imlay City residents and businesses have been very generous to this local guy who was born and raised in Imlay City—graduated from Imlay and has been a participant in the Imlay City Derby for 20+ years. A fund has been set up at Capac State Bank and donations can be sent to any branch.

There is also a gofundme.com account set up.
