Queen’s Roger Taylor Accepts Check For Mercury Phoenix Trust

Queen's Roger Taylor accepted a £50,000 check in London yesterday from the Hard Rock Cafe on behalf of the Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity organization that fights AIDS worldwide. After the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991, the remaining members of Queen and their manager organized The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness and used the proceeds to launch The Mercury Phoenix Trust.
