It's back to MTV's formative years on the Vault today with Asia, an act owing much to the video channel for their success.  They even sang about VJ's as opposed to DJ's.  We called it modern art rock, with "old", even then, art rockers forming a new and exciting sound.  It was Yes meets Emerson, Lake & Palmer but with rules.  Their outdated early 1970's clunky 10 minute stoner numbers were now 4 minute pop rock tunes that were whittled into radio friendly perfection.  But, as with almost anything from the 1980's, it didn't last.  Perfect for the Vault!  One of their best, Wildest Dreams today around 5:20pm.  On-line too.
