The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Detroit Tigers last night in extra innings, 3 – 2.  Tiger starter Max Scherzer gave up the first two runs to the Rays before being lifted after six innings due to pitch count.  Reliever Duane Below was tagged with the late inning loss loss after the Tiger defense couldn’t finish a couple of routine defensive plays.  The Tiger offense wasn’t much better, with Alex Avila providing a solo shot in the seventh inning.  The two teams wrap up their series this afternoon; Doug Fister takes the mound for the Tigers.
