Red Hot Chili Peppers, who have played just about everywhere over the last two years, will make a special stop next month to perform for the Dalai Lama at his annual environmental summit.

The event will take place at the only Tibetan Buddhist college in the Pacific Northwest — Maitripa College in Portland, Ore., on May 11. The performance will be staged in the afternoon at the end of the third day of events during the Dalai Lama Environmental Summit.

A posting on the event’s website states, “The musical element of this event is intended to be a display of joyful celebration and an inspiration to future generations to care for our planet. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been great supporters of the Tibetan cause, of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and of the need to work to protect and preserve our environment.”

It should be noted that separate tickets are not available for the concert and that the performance is part of the summit’s activities.

Those wishing to catch Red Hot Chili Peppers in a more traditional venue can still see them play this weekend at the second staging of Coachella, at Metallica‘s upcoming Orion Music + More festival or at the recently announced Outside Lands festival in San Francisco. Speaking of Coachella, those who missed out on the festival this year can catch the band’s full set online below.
