On this day December 10,1967, the world lost to my point of view one of the greatest soul singers ever Otis Redding.  Otis and four members of the R&B band the Bar-Kays were killed when their tour plane crashed into Lake Monona near Madison, Wisconsin. Otis Redding was just 26, and his posthumous single "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay" hit #1 soon after his death.

Enjoy Otis performing at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and you can see why they called him the King of Soul.
