Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson Cover ‘Helter Skelter’ At DTE [VIDEO]

A few hours after releasing their collaborative cover of 'Helter Skelter', Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson performed the kick ass Beatles song about an amusement park ride live on stage at at DTE Energy Music Theatre kicking off their Twins of Evil: The Second Coming tour. Check it out here.

Paul McCartney's deliberate effort to create a sound as loud and dirty as possible and noted for both its "proto-metal roar" and "unique textures" is considered by music historians as a key influence in the early development of heavy metal.

Zombie and Manson's version, in Zombie’s words, is a “heavier, weirder and more groove-oriented” take on the White Album track. The duo alternate vocals over a surge of detuned distortion throughout their slowed-down, snarling version. Zombie and Manson will perform the song together onstage at each tour stop this summer. Twins of Evil: The Second Coming tour runs until August 29.
