Ronnie James Dio’s Widow, Wendy Dio, Remarries

The widow of late Dio, Black Sabbath and Heaven and Hell vocalist Ronnie James Dio has remarried. Wendy Dio, who also served as Dio's manager for many years, wed Omar Gimenez in a private ceremony this past Sunday (Sept. 9) in Montecito, California.

Noisecreep reports that the low-key ceremony was made public when the wedding planner for the couple tweeted about it online. The nuptials come two years after Dio lost her husband to stomach cancer.

In that time, Wendy Dio has continued to keep her late husband's memory alive by running Niji Entertainment, the record company they founded together prior to his death, and continually releasing the abundance of material that Dio had recorded over the years. In addition, Niji has grown beyond just Dio's recordings to issue music from the Headcat and others.

The label's next release will be 'The Very Beast of Dio, Vol. 2,' which is due in October.
