Great guitarist Ronnie Montrose passed away at his Northern California home on Saturday.The 64-year-old had been battling prostate cancer for the last five years. Before he formed his own band in 1973 with Sammy Hagar on lead vocals, Ronnie performed on Van Morrison's "Tupelo Honey" album, and with a number of other musicians including Herbie Hancock, Boz Scaggs and the Edgar Winter Group.
