Sammy Hagar Booked For Hometown’s 2013 Centennial Celebration
Sammy Hagar will be helping his hometown mark a special milestone. The Red Rocker has been tapped to be the Grand Marshal at the Fontana Days Parade during the Fontana Days Festival commemorating the city’s centennial — two years from now.
Hagar was raised in the Southern California community, and launched his music career in the late ’60s in the San Bernardino area. Event organizer Toni Lewis says the city intends to make its 100th birthday something special, which is why they’ve booked Hagar for the festival nearly two years in advance. The first formal planning meeting for the big party is coming up next week. Fontana will celebrate its centennial in June of 2013.
