We won't soon forget the flood last year that wreaked havoc in the Flint area, roads washed out for days and put parts of Knollwood Apartments under water. That is the case in Chicago this morning. My brother, who just moved there, sent me a photo of one of several cars that were submerged and abandoned. The storm system that caused this damage in the Windy City is heading our way.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for the entire listening area until 6:00pm tonight. From the storms last night, we are seeing rainfall totals around an inch on average, but some spots have seen totals closer to two inches. At 11:46 this morning, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were in effect near Grand Rapids.

Chicago's Ohare Airport saw 5.85 inches of rain as of 10:00am this morning. The 3.84 inches that has fallen so far today is the heaviest rain ever recorded in a calendar day in the Windy City so early in the year. This picture was taken by my brother this morning in Chicago, and it bares a striking resemblance to video shot at Knollwood last year.
