Back when we were kids, cursive was something you started learning in third or fourth grade. But, in recent years, schools have been less likely to teach cursive to kids.

A new bill in Washington would require schools to teach cursive, and we want to know - do you think kids in Michigan should be required to learn cursive in school?

Many schools in this day and age are more focused on teaching children to type instead of teaching them how to write in cursive. Many are concerned that if kids don't learn how to read it, they won't be able to read historical documents and the like in the future.

Many teachers have claimed that their simply isn't time to teach cursive writing to their students anymore, and some have required it as homework, but do not teach it in class.

So, should schools be required to teach cursive to students here in Michigan? Are your kids learning cursive in school?
