Make plans to be at the PIX Theater this Saturday, April 26th. for “Fracking in your Backyard?” An informational program dealing with the process of fracking, which involves pumping large volumes of water, sand and chemicals beneath the ground to split open rocks and allow for oil and gas to flow.

The program will start at 4:30 p.m. with speakers and their respective topics of discussion.  A question and answer session will follow the speakers, then the documentary film, “Gasland II,” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. for those wishing to learn more about the topic.

The event is sponsored in part by The Lapeer Land Conservancy, Sierra Club Nepessing Group, and Flint River Watershed Coalition.
